Finally! I Can Steal the Cookie Jar....

Picture this... Dinner is over and a bag of cookies come out to play. One grown man is enticed to eat a cookie. I then tell him it's gluten free. When he says that he couldn't tell, the second grown man (ok I hang out with old men- kidding BOYS) took a cookie, ate it, and when I offered the first one a second cookie- I was asked by the host why I was giving away there cookies. Here's the kicker, if I can get away with cookies tasting like cookies- I will freely give them away. Especially when it is saving me the calories- these cookies, although amazing strike out at 150 calories a cookie and 8 grams of fat. So to you my Celiac friends I say this: Eat one cookie and then share your cookies with older men!

(ps these are sold by the yogurt section in Stews! a huge Nod to Stew Leonards!)

One More Reason to "heart" Stew's

This might have been one of the hardest store to get any type of gluten free feedback from... and it IS my favorite store. When I first found out I had Celiac, I went to Stew's and asked them which products they had gluten free. Of which the help desk replied- none... Now we all know this is surely not the case. Eggs are Gluten Free, Some Chips are gluten free, actually some of their dips were gluten free, and sooo much more. I understand this is my problem, not theirs, but a little knowledge goes a LONG way- (at that time they did have one labeled gluten free product, which I told the women about).
Since that day, Stew Leonard's has come A LONG way with their choice of products and options for us! They first came out with Bethany's Gluten Free cookies, which I blogged about earlier and are AHHH-mazing... Today they showcased a new line of cookies, a local gluten free bakery: My Dad's Cookies, which had many choices to choose from: linzer torte, black and white, gingersnaps... so next time you are there, not only pick up a box- remember to thank them in the suggestion box for bringing them on board!

"Sprinkles Make Anything That Much Better..."

Sheffa- Salad Sprinkles...

I have always been a HUGE fan of sprinkles and now that I an GF I have found a new way to eat sprinkles.... Salad Sprinkles. While in Stew's last week I met a lovely lady Leslie whose product is Sheffa, Salad Sprinkles. We got to chatting and of course- Leslie just found out that she too has Celiac! What a small world.

I was asking her about her product, and I will admit- I sampled- but who doesn't in Stews???? And fell in love- and so will you... funny enough I fell in love a year ago when I first sampled too, but I didn't know then that it was Gluten Free, because I didn't need to know! I did know that it was labeled as "wheat free, gluten free, kosher, vegan, non gmo (whatever that is) and no trans fat" all natural whole food ingredients, aka healthy. Now that I covered that basis- we are all set, and all set to make delicious salads, pastas and meals with just a bit more flare! Salad Sprinkles are a nut and seed sprinkle- so not for people with diverticulitis- watch out... but for us lovers of seeds- we can add on an extra spoonful! So enjoy... and remember...
